Billboard Magazine Song Awards to be presented at the Historic Blue Bird Café
(Los Angeles) July 10, 2005– The winners of the prestigious 9th annual Billboard Song Contest will be announced at the historic Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville, TN, on July 24, 2005. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the Showcase and Awards Ceremony will begin at 8 p.m.
Songwriters from around the world have entered songs in ten different categories: Pop, R&B/Blues, Jazz, Country/Folk, Rock/Alternative, Dance, Latin, World, Rap/Hip Hop, and Contemporary Christian/Gospel. As part of their award, the winning songwriters will have the opportunity to perform their song at the showcase, which will be attended by music executives from major labels.
Winning songwriters will also receive various prizes from sponsors of the Billboard Song Contest, DiscMakers, Epiphone Guitars, D’Addario Guitar Strings, BluBlocker Sunglasses, FIDOF (International Federation of Festival Organizations), The Halsey Institute of Music & Entertainment Business, TAXI-The Independent A&R Company, Indie Band Manager, and Sonicbids.com, our online submissions sponsor.
A special industry CD that includes the top three winners from all categories will be produced by DiscMakers and sent to important industry leaders, A&R, producers, managers, etc. on a worldwide basis.
The Awards Ceremony and Showcase will be open to the public along with invited guests from the music industry, press, and media. Former awards ceremonies have been held at such illustrious sites as the Troubadour in Los Angeles; this will mark the first time this prestigious event has been hosted in Nashville at the famous Bluebird café.
