Getting information about a doctor’s past can be far more difficult than running a criminal check on the average person. This is because medical boards (which are run by doctors) have traditionally tried to keep this info top secret.
I have nothing against doctors, my dad happens to be one, but we have the right to know who we are dealing with. So if I want to do a background check on my new doctor, here are some great sites that I use!
The state of California has a free site to check doctors’ backgrounds at mbc.ca.gov. But what if you live outside California? Don’t worry, there are sites for you!
If you live outside of California, try DocFinder Searches which lists (and links) states that have doctor information available to the public for free. Or you can pay $9.95 to get any doctor’s background anywhere, just go to docinfo.org.
Do you need medical care, but are uninsured? Try reading my post on Free or Low Cost Health Care and Services for Children & Adults that lists of free clinics and free prescriptions.

I checked some sites you posted, however the information was rather generic/limited. I’m not sure how much detailed information you can get for free, however I did run into two sites that provided MUCH more data for the two physicians I was looking for, and the sites were mdnationwide.org and choicetrust.com. One of the doctor’s I searched did not have anything on the state medical board database, yet mdnationwide.org had two malpractice judgments, and also had his rating.
Hopefully this helps.
Thanks.
